What is Heaven Sound?

Heaven Sound is a Christian-led EDM (electronic dance music) entity. Our goal is to connect people who have a love for electronic dance music in a positive dance culture environment. We desire a community where the deepest desires of the human heart, such as love, unity, and being accepted, can be met without us having to compromise our values.

What is Positive Dance Culture?

Positive Dance Culture (PDC) is a culture focused on healthy relationships in the dance music culture. It is not dependent upon the negatives normally associated with the typical EDM scene, but a PDC lifestyle can be lived out within that scene. We desire to have a great time, but to wake up the next day feeling refreshed after having a late night out. We desire that our music would energize and renew the heart and mind.

Statement of Faith

Here is what we believe to be true concerning Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of a virgin named Mary. He was crucified, buried and rose from the grave on the third day. He ascended into Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father. One day, He will return again to establish His rule and reign on the Earth.

Note from Founder

My name is Daniel Dodd. I first was introduced to EDM in the late 1990’s. Shortly after being introduced, I went to my first rave in 1999. The music, community and underground nature were very powerful and compelling for me. These elements are what catapulted me fully into the scene. It was only after I left the scene (about 3 years later) that I understood how counterfeit some of the core elements of the scene were. The things that remained true were my love of the music and the need for community.

In 2003, I gave my life to Christ. He called me out of that scene, but left these desires within my heart. For quite some time now, I have struggled with my love of the music not matching the Christian culture. Finally in 2010, I crossed paths with a few other guys who had the same love of the music that didn’t want to have anything to do with the rave/club scene either. This is where Heaven Sound started and where I fully connected with the vision of Positive Dance Culture.

My vision of Positive Dance Culture is not the rave/club scene stripped down to fit our desires, but is a reinventing of that scene, substituting the counterfeit elements with something that is real and lasting.
